INCATEMA CONSULTING & ENGINEERING carries out a study on logistics infrastructure and storage capacities for cereal, oilseed and protein crops (COP) grains in Spain.

INCATEMA participates in the implementation of the “Study On Storage Capacities and logistical infrastructure for EU Agricultural Commodities Trade (With A Special Focus On Cereals, The Oilseed Complex And Protein Crops (COP))”, launched by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development, acting as subcontractors en Spain for the companyARETÉ S.R.L., the main contractor who coordinates the entire study in the European Union.
The objective is to determine the real storage capacity for COP grains in EU member countries. In order to achieve this, existing information on national storage networks shall be completed with a comprehensive review of public and private operators’ capacities within these commodities’ value chains, from primary producers to final processors in agrifood industry, including cooperatives, associations, intermediate agents, animal feed sector, importers or exporters among others.
INCATEMA as the responsible party to carry out situation analysis in Spain, will lead a participative process gathering the aforementioned operators, in order to determine their real storage capacity and geo-reference this information at NUTS-3 level. This will be later merged with the rest of EU member countries, creating the first European map of basic crops’ storage facilities.
