·         INCATEMA supported MAGRAMA, along with the Regional Andalusian Department for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development to organise an “International Demonstration of Innovative Technologies in Machinery for a Sustainable Agriculture”.

This demonstration took place December the 4th 2014 in the public farm “Los Embalses” in Campillos municipality (Malaga, Spain), being launched by the Directorate-General for Agricultural Productions and Markets of the aforementioned ministry.

During the demonstration in real work conditions, different machinery manufacturing companies, coming from different Spanish regions, showed farmers the innovative characteristics of their equipment.

The demonstration has been divided between two plots and in several thematic modules, directed by professors from Cordoba and Valladolid Universities and experts from the Spanish Association of Soil Preservative Agriculture.

The first plot, dedicated to arable crops from direct seeding, work was focused on 1) adequate operating of the fertiliser spreaders and their influence in the reduction of fertilisers use; 2) reduced field work and its effects on the soil; 3) adequate use of phytosanitary and herbicide products and the need to fix machines to reduce soil and water pollution due to a bad product distribution. Finally, the sessions focused on the direct seeding machines, new technologies applied to tractors and other auxiliary devices for a precise harvesting.

The second plot, planted with olive trees, featured innovations on spraying machines to reduce phytosanitary products drifting and to ameliorate their distribution in the tree to be treated.

By the end of the day, attendants could assist to a series of conferences coordinated by the Deputy Director Mrs Esther Esteban focusing on the following topics:

-  Technological Innovations in machinery for sustainable agriculture, by Mr Luis Márquez Delgado;
-  CAP Reform and Sustainable Agriculture, by the Andalusian Agriculture Department;
-  Energy efficiency and saving in mechanisation of sustainable agriculture (LIFE+, AGRICARBON and LIFE CLIMAGRI Projects) by Mr Jesús Gil Ribes.
