INCATEMA hosts a study visit by an Angolan delegation for CEFOPESCAS project

INCATEMA Consulting & Engineering is hosting this week a study visit by an Angolan delegation made of Ministry of Fisheries officials and staff from the company auditing the Vocational Fisheries School CEFOPESCAS project, with an aim to visit different sites in Spain related to the project. During this visit, delegates are able to check on the quality and technical specifications of equipment and materials to be sent to Angola in the coming months for the school, expected to be completed in 2019.

CEFOPESCAS Vocational Fisheries School

CEFOPESCAS is a project launched by the Angolan Ministry of Fisheries awarded to INCATEMA. It consists in building a large building for training purposes with labs and workshops, 12 residential buildings for more than 300 boarding students, 24 residences for teachers, canteens and sport areas, along with all necessary facilities to complete a serviced area of around 18,000 sq. m of buildings and 5 Ha of greenfield land.

Equipment completing the facilities features the most advanced technology with a navigation simulator, practice areas with an adapted pool to recreate high sea and all necessary supplies to fulfil the technical needs.

Most materials used in CEFOPESCAS constructions are imported from Spain and follow the best possible quality standards. When selecting these materials, attention was given to their adequateness to humid coastal environments, given the expected erosion the sea may cause to the school being close to the coast.

Engaged with recognised vocational training

This project features a substantial training component to adapt the future CEFOPESCAS faculty to international rules and homologations by the International Maritime Organization. Training includes assistance to prepare curricula and syllabus for CEFOPESCAS courses’ subjects and providing a fisheries training ship with all necessary gear, that is under construction in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona), and the Angolan delegates have seen.
