INCATEMA is awarded the preparation of the water supply master plan of a new refugee camp in Ethiopia

INCATEMA Consulting & Engineering has been engaged by UNICEF, with an urgency request, to carry out in Ethiopia the “Construction supervision and contract administration for a new water supply system for Gure and Shembolla host communities and Gure-Shembolla Refugee Camp in Beneshangul”. This project lasts 12 months and will be executed in close collaboration with UNHCR, UNICEF and the Regional Water Bureau.
This contract is awarded as a result of the long term agreement signed between UNICEF and INCATEMA in February 2016. Under this LTA, INCATEMA engages to provide engineering and consultancy services in Latin America and Africa whenever UNICEF requests it for specific interventions in these areas.
Among the activities carried out by INCATEMA in the country, the following can be pointed out:
• Sanitation and Water Supply Master Plan preparation for infrastructures covering the host communities and the refugee camp.
• Preparation of plans, bills of quantities, engineering designs and tender documents for necessary works and environmental impact assessment of such works.
• Construction works monitoring and supervision according to the agreed designs and specifications.
• Assistance in specific contracts management.
INCATEMA has already mobilised an experts’ team to the area to begin the activities that will last until mid-July 2018.
Gure-Shembolla Refugee Camp opened in May 2017 and can host up to 15,000 people, most of them coming from South Sudan.
