Incatema Consulting Group has signed a new contract with the Government of Senegal for a Technical assistance to launch and accompany the Sustainable Fisheries Management Project in Senegal.

For the next 30 months Indemar , the company belonging to Incatema Consulting Group, will assist the Government of Senegal as part of a European Consortium led by the company AGRER. ADUPES overall objective is to enhance deep demersal fisheries contribution to sustainable Senegalese economic growth.

This will be achieved by implementing a sustainable fisheries management for deep shrimp and octopus fisheries, a stock assessment system and the issuance of scientific advice on total allowable catch.

To reach this goal, specific purposes of our technical assistance are:

  • Assist the services from the ministry in charge of fisheries (minister cabinet, Studies and Planning Unit and Maritime Fisheries Directorate), the Dakar-Thiaroye Oceanographic Research Centre (CRODT) and the Senegalese Industrial Fishers and Ship-owners Association (GAIPES) to enhance the follow up capacity on fishery resource situation, Senegalese fisheries performance and their regulation system.
  • Support internal and external monitoring for miscellaneous activities and public contracts.
  • Build national technical capacities to conduct fisheries management plans at public administration and stakeholder level.

This technical assistance is funded by the European Union through the European Development Fund (EDF) that finances EU external actions in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP).
