Renewal of INCATEMA sponsorship of

One more year, we renew our sponsorship and collaboration agreement with “Agrónomos sin Fronteras” foundation. This agreement states different types of collaboration between both parties with a purpose to promote agriculture development projects that this foundation carry out in countries such as Tanzania and Mozambique.

For 12 years, Agronomists without borders has been working in Iringa region (Tanzania) with training and capacity building activities related to farming focusing on livelihood improvement for smallholder farmers and their families. At present, the foundation works on three projects (Ihanzutwa-Cooperative Program, Kilolo Program and Pawaga Program) dealing with capacity building and rural development covering all agroecological areas in the region.

The role of agriculture in the fight against hunger and poverty

Among awareness raising activities facilitated by the foundation in Spain, Incatema collaborated as foundation patron in a Symposium on Agriculture and Development organized by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development and the Agricultural, Biosystems and Food Engineering School. This symposium included highly relevant spokespeople for cooperation, private sector and academic areas to debate about the role that smallholder agriculture plays when fighting against hunger and chronic poverty un developing countries.

Agronomists without borders is a non-profit NGO created in 2004 with the purpose of development cooperation in the most vulnerable countries.

They aim to be a reference of Spanish agronomists’ best practices for those who wish to contribute to this solidary initiative, aware of the foundation professional capacity to collaborate in the eradication of extreme rural poverty and improving food security in the communities where they work.
