30 January, 2023

Senior officials of the Islamic Development Bank and the National Office of Sanitation of Senegal (ONAS) paid a visit to the Cambérène Waste Water Treatment Plant (Senegal), where they were able to verify the progress of the work, which is nearing completion.

The officials pointed out the great effort made by the INCATEMA-SVTP-INIMA Group, which is responsible for the execution of the project, in the face of the global challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russo-Ukrainian War, which were the major milestones successfully managed by the GROUPEMENT to execute the commissioned infrastructure to a standard of excellence. Likewise, they expressed their great satisfaction with the quality of the work and the positive impact that said infrastructure will have on the population of Dakar, on its circular economy and on the environment.

With a budget of EUR 32 million, the Cambérène Waste Water Treatment Plant project includes not only the construction of the new self-sustaining WWTP, with an average treatment capacity of 92,000 m3/day and a peak capacity of 101,000 m3/day, but also the rehabilitation of the surrounding environment where the current WWTP is located.

The new WWTP will be ready for operation in the near future.
