26 December, 2019

Incatema Consulting & Engineering finalises this month the first semester of technical assistance provision to ECOFISH Programme, covering Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean, where we have worked closely with regional organizations benefiting from this program in order to finalise the work plans leading to achieve the expected programme results and to finalise the programme estimates for regional organizations that are mandated by the financing agreement signed between the European Union and the Indian Ocean Commission to implement ECOFISH Programme by executing a portion of its budget over a part of the targeted regions.

This program, financed by the European Union and piloted from the EU Delegation to the Republic of Mauritius and the Republic of Seychelles, seeks supporting sustainable fisheries management in the region to contribute food and nutritional security, improving marine biodiversity and reducing poverty among fishers’ communities. These global aims are part of the blue economy, whose purpose is to profit from marine resources as means of economic growth and sources of innovative economic development in the regions where ECOFISH takes place.

Incatema Consulting & Engineering leads a consortium made of three European companies implementing the technical assistance contract to support ECOFISH Programme in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean. These services started in July 2019 and are expected to last five years and a half, as it was mentioned here.
