Incatema is present at the 30th anniversary of the AECID

20 November, 2018

The Spanish Cooperation Agency for International Development (AECID) is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary. Over these three decades, the AECID has consolidated its role as the main management body for Spanish Cooperation, fighting poverty and pushing to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations in the world. Incatema began its international activity with the AECID in 2000, in two countries: Gabon, with the Construction of an Integrated Aquaculture Complex and a Training Facility in Libreville; and São Tomé and Príncipe, with a Production and Commercialisation Project for Pepper and Vanilla. Since then and to this day, Incatema has continued to work with the AECID in different countries in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, as part of its commitment to contribute to food security in the countries in which it works. Some of the projects undertaken with the AECID over these last 18 years include:

  • the development of small-scale fishing industries in the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe
  • the renovation of the artisanal fishing port of Neves in São Tomé and Príncipe
  • a project to improve the commercialisation and consolidation of producer organisations in the experimental fazenda in Funda, Angola
  • an integrated goat and sheep husbandry project in São Tomé and Príncipe
  • resilience-building in the agro-pastoral sector in Mauritania
In the coming years, we hope to continue working and collaborating with the AECID to achieve the 2030 Agenda goals, goals that we make our own as part of the company's commitment to build a better and more sustainable world.
