Incatema participates in the first UN-organised ‘Sustainable supplier’ training programme

16 March, 2023

The first training programme 'Sustainable suppliers' aims to train SMEs that supply large companies around the world in the specific field of sustainability. The aim is to provide these SMEs with tools that enable them to meet the sustainability standards required by large companies with a global impact.

Other benefits for the participating companies include acquiring general knowledge about the different issues currently encompassed by corporate sustainability according to their size, sector and geographical location; learning how to integrate sustainability into business strategy and how to measure the results achieved as well as aligning Incatema's sustainability work with the different key sustainability trends and requirements set by large companies and/or multinationals with global activity and presence.

The training content is divided into four modules: general aspects of sustainability, sustainable development goals, the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and incentives and communication.

This includes content such as environmental aspects that impact on the company, gender equality, diversity and governance.

Incatema will also be able to learn about the main reference frameworks and international sustainability reporting standards.

A programme developed by the UN Global Compact, the ICO Foundation and ICEX Spain

The first training programme “Sustainable suppliers" is a project developed by the UN Global Compact (the largest international business sustainability initiative), the ICO Foundation and ICEX Spain Export and Investment. It is an international project as it provides training to companies from different countries. It lasts approximately 5 months and offers the materials in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Its objective is to train more than 2,000 SMEs suppliers at a global level, integrated in the supply chains of large Spanish companies, committed to the UN Global Compact Spain, which will act as the driving force behind the project.

Similarly, the programme will also enable participating SMEs, including Incatema, to position themselves as a benchmark in the promotion of sustainability and contribute to the achievement of the goals of the 2030 Agenda through a pioneering United Nations project.
