Incatema provides technical assistance to support the Blue Economy within the ECOFISH programme

The EU’s ECOFISH programme, deployed in East Africa, South Africa and West Indian Ocean regions with support from INCATEMA Consulting & Engineering, is assisting the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to formulate a programme of 4 million dollars to promote the Blue Economy in the Horn of Africa region. The project will help to structure the Blue Economy of the member countries of the IGAD, favouring the implementation of regional initiatives and strengthening regional coordination and integration.

This programme will be funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and, further to a request made to the programme by IGAD, has been developed with the help of a specialist mobilised by the consortium that INCATEMA is leading in the context of technical assistance to the ECOFISH programme, supported by us since July 2019.

ECOFISH premieres its quarterly newsletter

The programme supported by Incatema Consulting & Engineering has made its quarterly newsletter available to partners and interested persons to obtain information on all progress made.

The technical assistance for promotion of the development of sustainable fisheries in the East Africa, South Africa an Indian Ocean regions (ECOFISH Programme) is provided by a consortium led by Incatema Consulting & Engineering with funding from the European Union, managed from the EU delegation in Mauritius and the Seychelles. Its purpose is to enhance the sustainable management of fisheries in the zone to improve food and nutrition security of the population. Other objectives of the programme include improving marine biodiversity and contributing to the alleviation of poverty in coastal communities.
