Incatema signs a new contract to study feasibility of increased aquaculture production in Cameroon

23 February, 2023

Incatema signed a contract with a Cameroonian investor to study the feasibility of increasing said investor activities in aquaculture sector. Once they obtained a public concession from the Cameroonian government to commercially exploit a 40 Ha plot, the investor contracted Incatema services to dimension and formulate the constructive project of a closed cycle fish farm to produce tilapia and African catfish, in addition to an associated processing unit to further condition harvested tilapia, to be sold fresh or frozen, with an added market value.

The investor’s present activity consists of importing frozen fish to be sold in Cameroon through wholesale or retail and importing fish feed to act as local retailer for small-scale Cameroonian fish farmers.

Furthermore, they exploit at present a small fish farm where they grow tilapia and African catfish. Incatema will send its specialists to study the plot and infrastructures that the investor already owns in Cameroon to formulate an integrated project to implement the aforementioned fish farm and the associated processing plant, with adapted designs and a viable business plan for the project to be fully bankable.
