31 October, 2019

Incatema Consulting & Engineering S.L. has launched the Training Ship that forms part of the project signed with the Ministry of Fisheries of Angola for the construction and fitting out of the Basic Fisheries Training School - CEFOPESCAS.

The training ship has been designed to carry out educational and training activities with the various types of fishing gear. This ship, with a length of 20 metres, and a depth of 2.10 metres, has the capacity for 4 crew members and 12 trainees. Additionally, it has been fully equipped with approved instruments that fulfil current international regulations: radar, navigation system, fishing echo-sounder, GMDSS Radar Transponder, sonar, and all other equipment necessary for it to fulfil its function as a training installation.

The launching of this training ship represents a new milestone in the CEFOPESCAS project, whose contract for a value of more than 98 million US dollars has made it the largest scale turnkey project carried out by Incatema to date.

The CEFOPESCAS project, designed to provide trainees with recognised professional training in fishing and navigation in the region of Luanda, entails the construction on a surface of 18,000 m2 and 5 hectares of installations comprising a large classroom building, laboratories, workshops, canteen and sports areas. The facilities are completed with the latest technology, including a navigation simulator, practice zones with an adapted pool to recreate the maritime environment at high sea, and fitting out of the entire complex, with special focus on the technical classrooms. The project also comprises 12 residential buildings for more than 300 trainees in a boarding regime and 24 houses for trainers.
