30 December, 2019

Once the jury's decision of the Ideas Contest called by the Government of Cantabria for construction of what will be the new Museum of Pre-history and Archaeology of Cantabria and Administrative Space, with headquarters in Santander, is known, ‘Orogénesis’, the project presented by Incatema Consulting & Engineering, has reached the last stages of the selection process. The project has been highly appraised by the members of the jury, who have highlighted both the architectural quality of the solution presented and its adaptation to the requirements of the programme and urban conditions of the environment.

The purpose of this tender was the development of an architectural assembly to contain the new headquarters of the Museum and Board of Culture, on a plot of 4,071 m2. Given the importance of the call and scale of the construction comprising the Competition, our architectural project ‘Orogénesis’ has competed with another 72 proposals, both national and international, all of which are anonymous. Although our project is not situated among the five finalists who will pass onto the second stage of the Contest, we can only feel proud of the high classification obtained.
