The value of water in Santo Domingo

31 January, 2019

The forthcoming commissioning of the EDAR Mirador Norte la Zurza plant in 2019 will permit the waste water generated by 450,000 residents from 37 sectores (neighbourhoods) to be treated, thanks to this turnkey project by Incatema. With an execution time of two years, a budget of 55 million  and 103,835 cubic metres of clean water discharged daily into the Ozama River, it is one of the largest waste water treatment plants in the Caribbean.

The residual sludge can also be used as organic fertiliser.
