A delegation of Turkish civil servants from the fisheries sector visits the Vigo Fish Market accompanied by Incatema

24 November, 2021

A delegation from Turkey has come to Spain to learn up close about the Spanish fisheries sector: organisation and automation of fish markets, records of catches and landings, aquaculture, and marketing of fishing and aquaculture products.

Throughout their visit, Incatema has accompanied the Delegation on their visit to Vigo’s fresh fish market and to the fish market of Bueu, which sells non-industrial coast fishing products. The Delegation has also visited a shellfish treatment installation and a shellfish gathering zone.

The visit forms part of the project Technical Assistance for Capacity Building for Fisheries Producer Organisations and Provincial Agricultural Directorates in line with Common Market Organisation (CMO) of Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). Incatema, together with the Turkish company ANKON, is coordinating this project with European funding, whose purpose is to support Turkish institutions in their process of gradual adaptation to current EU legislation in relation to fisheries and aquaculture, as previously reported here.
