22 October, 2020

Incatema Consulting & Engineering has initiated the first phase of the project to rehabilitate the water supply system of the city of Hinche in Haiti, with construction of 5 new water kiosks and rehabilitation of the 5 existing ones, as part of a programme that also includes the installation of 3,000 potable water connections for new users, which will supply water to more than 30,000 people, and the rehabilitation of the existing 500 connections, among other actions.

In coming months, the works corresponding to a second stage will begin, involving the installation of an additional 2 km of adduction pipeline, supplied mainly from two springs. The works will be completed with the construction, fitting out and storage of two auxiliary wells as already reported here.

The project is the largest within the bilateral programme of Spanish Cooperation, with funding of 5.5 million euros. Haiti is the country that most benefits from the actions of the Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation with donations that add up to 119 million euros.
