Incatema to propose training actions to improve crop yields in Malawi

26 May, 2021

Incatema Consulting & Engineering will propose training actions to improve crop yields in Malawi as part of the technical assistance project that the company is implementing in the country. In March and April, two experts deployed by the company have visited 6 irrigated perimeters to analyse their operations in terms of good environmental practices and irrigation water management.

After analysing detected shortcomings, training actions and other complementary interventions will be proposed to align the capacities of farmers who practice irrigation to improve crop yields.

In coming months, the plan is to propose irrigation-related legislative improvements to result in improved operations of the irrigation water management structures and increased legal safety for all parties involved.

With this new action, the consortium made up of Incatema Consulting & Engineering and AGRER (Belgium) move forward in the provision of technical assistance to improve agribusinesses skills and the sustainability of the irrigation systems of agricultural producer organisations in Malawi. This is a project financed by the EU to ensure the implementation of environmental management plans, as we previously reported here.
